Day 6
Soroi Larrsens Camp
A full day to enjoy this stunning reserve. Typically, the day begins with an early morning drive just after sunrise, when the wildlife is most active and the golden light bathes the rugged landscape. Often elephants are encountered along the Ewaso Ng’iro River, big cats like lions and leopards are on the move, as well as the region’s unique “Samburu Special Five”—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk. After a hearty breakfast back at camp, the midday hours are spent relaxing, enjoying lunch, or perhaps visiting a local Samburu village for a cultural experience. As the afternoon cools, another game drive offers a chance to see giraffes browsing, elephants gathering, and predators preparing for the evening hunt. The day ends with sundowners in the bush and a starlit dinner at camp, often accompanied by the distant calls of hyenas or lions echoing through the night.
